It’s been a busy year at Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston, and we’re so proud of all we’ve accomplished, thanks to our staff, partner families, and dedicated supporters.

Here are just some of the highlights from 2022:

Two homes completed in Malden

In October, Habitat Greater Boston held its first home dedication in more than three years, following disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the delay, new homeowners Cynthia, Elmostafa, and Laila were thrilled to achieve their long awaited dreams of affordable homeownership.

Five more coming next door

Right next door to the new homes in Malden, Habitat Greater Boston broke ground on the second phase of the project, which includes five more homes. We look forward to partnering with five new families early in the new year to help build their new homes.

Finishing touches on Mission Hill homes

Work is nearly complete on two Habitat Greater Boston homes in Mission Hill. Justine, Abdi, and Hodan can’t wait to finally move into their completed homes next year.

“My kids are mesmerized by the fact that they will live in a brand-new home,” Abdi said.

None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Habitat Greater Boston’s staff, volunteers, the hardworking families who partner with us, and kind and generous friends.

Habitat Greater Boston has ambitious plans for 2023, with our team expecting to break ground on more than 22 new homes in and around Boston in the coming months.
