Anthony Papantonis

Chair

Mr. Papantonis was elected as Chair of the Board of Directors in 2019, after serving as Vice Chair since 2017. He is an engineer and President and founder of Nauset Construction, a full-service construction company providing pre-construction, construction management, design-build, and general contracting services throughout New England.

William DiSchino

Treasurer

Mr. DiSchino joined the Board of Directors in 2008 and was elected Treasurer in 2010. He served as President and CEO of Barkan Management Company, a leading manager of residential properties in Massachusetts, for 26 years until his retirement in late 2020. Mr. DiSchino is also past President of the Rental Housing Association.

Rodger Brown

Mr. Brown joined the Board in 2017. As Managing Director of Real Estate at Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), he oversees the activities of all real estate development staff, manages resource allocation and department budgets, and establishes strategic initiatives for the organization. Mr. Brown is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Boston Architectural College and a member of the Town of Sherborn Zoning Board of Appeals.

Michael E. Liu, AIA NCARB

Mr. Liu is Senior Partner and Design Principal at The Architectural Team. He served as Chairman of the Habitat Board of Directors from 2007 to 2009. Mr. Liu is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Boston Architectural College. He also is the former Chairman of the Designer Selection Board for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Sergio Toscano

As a Build Day volunteer for over 21 years and after serving in the Homeowner Selection Committee for 9 years, Sergio Toscano was elected to the Board of Directors in 2022.  He has served as the Chair of Habitat’s Homeowner Selection Committee since 2021. Mr. Toscano is Vice President of IT Risk Governance at Brown Brothers Harriman, a privately owned and managed financial services firm.  As Vice President, he is responsible for managing technology audit and regulatory requirements against an industry technology control framework and coordinating official responses to reduce risk exposure.

Jim Kostaras, AIA

President and CEO

Mr. Kostaras was appointed as President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston in November, 2019. He is a registered architect, urban planner, and former Senior Fellow at the Institute for International Urban Development. He was also the Executive Director of the City of Somerville’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development, and prior to that, Assistant Director for Economic Development at the Boston Planning and Development Agency (former BRA). Jim was a Lecturer in Urban Planning and Design at the Harvard and, more recently, an adjunct professor at Wentworth and Northeastern. For over 28 years, Jim and his wife have lived in West Roxbury.

Robert E. Kenney

Vice Chair

Mr. Kenney currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, having served as Chair of the Board previously from 2017 to 2019. He is President of Kenney Development Company, a leading real estate firm engaged in development, urban planning and consulting. Mr. Kenney also serves as a Trustee of the Greater Boston YMCA and Chairman of the Housing Development Corporation of Wellesley.

Mike Fish

Clerk

Mr. Fish was elected to the Board of Directors in 2016, and as Board Clerk in 2017. He is President, CEO, and co-founder of Dellbrook | JKS, a full-service general contractor and construction management firm specializing in healthcare, renewable energy, and municipal projects.

Mary Cerio

After serving for twelve years as a member of the Family Selection Committee and serving three years as the Chair of the Breakfast Event Committee, Mary Cerio was elected to the Board of Directors in 2021. She is the CEO and Co-Founder of 42 North Capital, a real estate private equity firm focused on value-add investments throughout New England. In her role as CEO, she is responsible for the firm’s operations oversight, capital raising, investor relations, and portfolio management.

Kimberly Sherman Stamler

President of Related Beal, Kimberly Sherman Stamler was elected to the Board of Directors in 2016. She is responsible for overall management of Related Beal and leads the company in pursuit of new development opportunities. Ms. Sherman Stamler is also a member of The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy.

Kurt Spring

After serving for over five years as Chair of the Family Selection Committee, Kurt Spring was elected to the Board of Directors in 2018.  He is a Managing Director at Equity Resource Investments, a real estate private equity firm, where he is Head of Asset Management. His expertise includes investor and management reporting, performance modeling, and identification of value enhancement, liquidity, and new investments.
