Materials in Need
Habitat Greater Boston accepts donations of new and gently used building materials. We also accept furniture in very good condition (but not upholstered furniture). All donations must be pre-approved and the following is a list of items we usually accept:
- Kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
- Stone countertops.
- Working appliances less than 5 years old in showroom condition. Older “high end” appliances on a case-by-case basis.
- Flooring: New ceramic or stone tiles, carpet, wood and laminate.
- Kitchen and bathroom sinks and faucets.
- Doors – interior solid core, exterior entry, sliding & French doors.
- Door hardware.
- Windows - insulated with seals intact and in very good condition
- Lighting fixtures & ceiling fans with mounting brackets.
- Tools - power & hand tools,
- Lawn & garden equipment.
- Dimensional lumber (6’ or longer, without water stains and de-nailed. Particle board, plywood, drywall, & cement board – full sheets). Molding (6’ or longer.)
- Shelves and shelving systems.
- New electrical, plumbing and hardware supplies.
- Furniture (as long as it is in very good condition and not upholstered), including dining and kitchen sets, china cabinets, book cases, bureaus, coffee tables, and entertainment centers.
