Jeff's Story:

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be running the Boston Marathon.  It is a great honor to have been selected to run Boston for the Habitat Hotfooters.  My father was the co-founder of the local Habitat for Humanity (Jay County, Indiana) chapter.  I have participated in two Habitat builds as well as helping with record keeping.  I personally know families that have moved into Habitat houses.  What a great experience it was to see the joy on their faces as they walked through the house for the first time.

I started running for fun five years ago.  I am now 43 years old and have received many benefits from running, including better health and good running friends.  I have completed ten half-marathons and one full marathon.  The feeling of accomplishment in completing a marathon was amazing.  I will run over 700 miles training for this marathon.  I greatly appreciate my wife and kid’s support and patience as I train for Boston.  I will also thank my doctor and physical therapist in advance because I’m sure I will be seeing them frequently to heal my aches and pains.
